Seems a bit inconsistent though, since most of the time it gives a nice firm shift and takes off like it should.

This has happened three times, one of them when I was trying to reproduce it.

Sometimes, when coasting up to a turn and then trying to get back up to speed with moderate throttle application, it feels like the transmission slips very briefly (like 1/4 of a second) and then catches, hard, and continues accelerating in second gear. Accelerates and cruises very well, the concern is with downshifts to second gear. Have done a 700R4 successfully in the past but this was my first 4L60E.ĭriven 400+ miles since the rebuild, all gears work, upshifts feel great and gears seem to hold well. Had a drivetrain issue that ended up being the transfer case, but while everything was apart I decided to rebuild the transmission as well.

Hello again, I am having a strange issue with the transmission in my 2007 (New Body Style) Silverado 1500 that I just rebuilt at 80k miles.
